BS 4211 Cat Ladder

BS 4211 sets out the geometry, strength and finish for permanently fixed ladders. We build every rung, stile and fixing to those clauses, so your spec sheet, drawing approval and site inspection all line up. Retrofit access after handover always costs more than specifying it correctly at tender stage.

• Rung spacing 225–230 mm

  Inside the BS 4211 225–300 mm band, held uniform for the whole run

• 1.5 kN rung point load

  Each rung engineered and jig-tested for the concentrated load the standard requires

• Stiles extend 1.05 m above landing

  Handhold extension per BS 4211 for safe exit at the top

• Fixings at ≤1500 mm centres

  Wall, parapet and roof brackets checked for the substrate before dispatch

• HDG finish to ISO 1461

  85–100 µm zinc, or acid-pickled SS304 / SS316 for corrosive environments
