• Total climb height

  From footing to landing. Max single section 25 m; taller runs are split with rest platforms.

• Rung spacing 225–230 mm

  Divide climb height by rung spacing to count rungs — compliant with OSHA 1910.23 and EN ISO 14122-4.

• Wall standoff & stile width

  Standard standoff 150–250 mm; stile width 200 mm standard, bespoke widths machinable.

• Fixing points ≤1500 mm

  Mark bracket positions at ≤1500 mm centres, plus anchor points at base and top landing.

How To Install A Cat Ladder, Step by Step

Every ladder ships trial-assembled and jig-checked with SS304 bolt kits, so installation is mechanical, not structural guesswork. Each order includes an engineer-reviewed fixing layout.

1. 1 · Anchor the base

   Bolt the base stile to a solid footing with SS304 anchor bolts — 100 mm minimum into concrete.

2. 2 · Mount wall brackets

   Fix standoff brackets at ≤1500 mm centres to structural steel or masonry using the supplied bolt kit.

3. 3 · Set rung spacing

   Rungs are pre-positioned at 225–230 mm spacing — verify vertical alignment as each section is raised.

4. 4 · Add fall protection

   Under OSHA 1910.28(b)(9), fixed ladders over 24 ft (7.3 m) require a ladder safety system or personal fall arrest on new installations; EN ISO 14122-4 requires fall protection above 3 m.

5. 5 · Tie off the landing

   Anchor the top section to the parapet or roof edge per EN ISO 14122-4, with a landing platform if required.
